He would not have been easily persuaded by anything else other than the truth, which he believed was genuine, coming from the lady Red. That said and done, he watched and continued to smile lightly, his emotions clear as day. Not hiding them from her, but controlling them enough that he would feel comfortable to an extent. Whatever this was going to be like, he wondered of the outcome and knew what he was to do. Just be himself, like many films of this age, it was absurd but it worked out for the best.

Realizing he had demanded her stay, he cursed the color that rose to his face. Like a child, he thought to himself as he glanced around at the floor and not towards the mirrors. Before returning his gaze towards her own, not shocked about the fact she delved into his emotions enough to know he wanted her to stay. The light anxious nature that he showed within him was natural, wonderings about how she would react or see him. As a book, he thought as he opened his lips in reply, nodding as he did so.

"Thank you for understanding and I do not mind, if you wish to look further, I do not mind. As long as I know you are doing so, I will have few qualms against the act. Now, Red, let us sit together..."

Vitae would say as calmly as he could, which was a strong point of his so it was indeed so. Though that was not how his smooth motions and waves of a hand showed against his emotions, cursing himself and given a personal grievances. As if he had known he would have female company and not any chairs, he would have brought a cloth of some sort to place beneath them. Another point within his mind wondered what he was doing and where his calculations have all disappeared to. Already planning to share his lunch with the lady, among other things, he wondered what he would say to her.

It was a pleasant change. She could only remember a few instances in her long lifetime where her inquisitive gaze had been welcome; feeling a mixture of both surprise and pleasure to be invited and welcomed to look upon his feelings at her leisure. Naturally, the brunette would have been unable to prevent herself from doing so otherwise, but there was a strange sense of wellbeing brought through his consent and the fact she’d be able to comment freely.

Oblivious to the changing hue within his cheeks, Red muffled her confusion when his aura explained the occurrence along with his straying eyes. Without realising it, the girl was smiling if only faintly, realising that even with his consent it would obviously require time for the male to become at ease with the idea himself. After all, it would only be easy to forget that she could see his true emotions as was it for him to discern the colour of her petite dress.

Nodding in agreement to his invitation to sit together, the brunette lowered herself to resume her previous sitting position, indifferent and truthfully unaware of the bare floor as the thought might have crossed through the male’s mind. With her legs beneath her as she knelt, Red instinctively began the quick process of soothing out the scarlet material forming her dress before shortly returning her intent attention back to her present company, a smile present.

“While I am appreciative, I think you will be glad in knowing that I seldom venture farther then the surface of what people show me, even if it is involuntary on both our accounts.”

After all, he couldn't help but feel and Red couldn't help but see.

Logically, he explained his fears and assumptions away, all he had to do was allow himself to be open minded. Not something he did often when it came to these sorts of situations, but close enough that he could very well believe it. Believe that it was harmless and that he would not need to feel anxious about the facts that were held. As she watched him, he watched her, sitting abruptly, he was fascinated by her movements. He of course was to join her, Vitae bent his knee as he touched the floor with it, he began to sweep around. So that he sat down with one leg parallel to the ground, the other arching over it, close to his chest.

It reminded him of a mathematical equation, but that was not the type of thing he wished to think of. Not that it wasn't fascinating, he had other points of interest within the room itself. Namely the Lady in the Red dress, himself closer to her than the previous ten due to the way he sat down, perhaps six feet difference or less. Enough to feel safe and close enough to be able to speak without raising ones voice above a mild whisper, not that he would whisper in conspiratorial tones. No, he was going to be more direct with Red, because she would pick apart tempered words.

"Do not worry, I am fully aware and am beginning to get used to the idea... though, may I ask... what do you see within me?"

Vitae would speak clearly, his mind concentrating as he left everything to accessibility. His emotions didn't run wild, but they were not covered from this instance, he wished to know himself and yet. He wanted to know what Red thought of him, vanity or perhaps personal rulings dictated that he ask. Vitae believed her an opinionated person, much like himself, but whatever she saw bubbling beneath the surface of his being did not frighten her or provoke any sort of reaction.

"Do not worry, you can speak candidly. As I believe you find the air right now to your tastes and wish to know of your thoughts"

Watching her as he moved his hands to push back his ponytail, so that it trailed out behind him. His book lightly falling upon his leg, his left foot facing east with his right leg arched towards an area left of Red. His messenger bag, it's leather creasing ever so lightly as it sat beside him, from this distance, perhaps she could feel the cool air that drifted from his body so naturally. The scents more determined and overt due to light perspiration, as he cast away his misgivings one at a time.

Running her fingers lightly through her hair, Red paused to readjust the silver clip present at the back of her head that was slowly sliding loose. In spite of this, she seemed unfazed by the dark curls that had in the meanwhile escaped and were now framing her face, though it had been truthfully many years since the werewolf had gone to any great effort into maintaining her appearance.

“Around you,” she corrected softly, tilting her head thoughtfully out of an acquired habit as she watched him, eyes briefly straying from his face. “Right now, I see interest mostly… There is some concern, but it’s more from determination then fear.”

While these were the basic emotions she saw and told the wizard, humans – though the term was used loosely within these certain academy’s walls, were in fact often more complicated then the girl allowed herself to describe. It was in her limited vision that she saw a variety of familiar colours that she couldn’t even begin to name surrounded him; some completely their own and others a mixture that without concentration she would be unable to distinguish.

Laying her hands to rest lightly upon her lap, the brunette allowed her eyes to return to him with a small encouraging smile. Reason dictated that it was only natural for him to be curious, though Red was attentive to the fact that the surrounding mirrors were probably more revealing then her. At least, that was what she believed from the knowledge she had acquired to understand while in his company.

Oblivious to the origin of the scent and breeze, the werewolf recognized it without comment as her mind did not delve the matter. Instead, she mulled for the correct words to satisfyingly explain the thoughts he had spoken to hear from her and once finished, she felt disappointed that she couldn’t illuminate to him the true entirety.

“While it changes of course, the majority of individuals do have… Well, it is not permanent, but there is sometimes a basic nature present of which their emotions tend to deprive from." A pause. "Sorry. It is difficult for me to even understand and I have had many years to learn.”

Not that it was detrimental to his health, mind or anything else. The concerns Vitae had prior to her scant reading of him seemed to drift away to a minute pause. Within the pool of emotions most named the heart, so as she corrected him of her visual acuity in the matter, it gave him more of an understanding of her being. Red was perhaps touchy or did not know the words needed to describe whatever she believed she saw upon him, if the subject were not him, he may have made some remarks about it. But it was and he was getting a tad self-conscious as is, determined to see this through it's natural course, he nodded.

Having listened to her, watched her eyes and how she presented herself, he wondered if she was also self-conscious. Small indications, like a robin preening itself, she straightened her accessory. It looked well upon her person, as did everything else, not that he spoke of it. As she did not wish to linger on the subject, it was understandable in light of how he had portrayed it. Normally, he would have shot forward with questions and show a defined stance in all manners. Though he could not stray from the fact that he did not want to bother her unduly.

One thing he did pick up however, something that he wished to know, curiosity was something he hated and hated himself for as hesitation set in. Vitae freely showed this upon his person, taking a deep breath as he watched her intently. It wasn't something that would send him reeling mentally, it was just a hard choice, so he thought of the best course of action and just came out with that. His lips opening as his heart sped once more, not wishing to hinder any other organs by doing things within the extremes.

"Beg your pardon, but I must state that I hate curiosity in others as I do so in myself... I may hesitate currently, because of that same reason. Yet, may I ask of you, your age. As it helps gauge ones words to how long ones life has been lived... If you do not wish to share that information, then I will not force you to answer. On another term in which we meet, do you want to share my lunch?"

His voice was smooth, if not slightly elevated from his usual calm, he did not need to hide his anxieties nor his own shortcomings when it came time to explain his emotions. Instead, he took it all and let it slide forth as intentional as distilling wine. Staying almost still, steady was a word more suitable to how he shaped his posture from his sitting position. Patting the side of his messenger bag when time came to offer, he mulled over the words she spoke, not knowing what to make of it as he understood the concepts in which everyone's emotions were not tied down. Very few lived with their emotional casings stilled by time, change occurred like tidal waves after a quake upon the surface of the earth.

A nod which she interpreted as a form of acceptance, the brunette was content with his lack of questions concerning her rather limited explanation and appreciated the short pleasant hush that fleetingly descended between them. While not the type to fill silence with words, Red was frankly unsurprised by his lack of reaction as from what she could personally perceive of his qualities so far with their single ongoing conversation, Vitae had proved to be an overall guarded and rational individual.

Gazing beyond the glow of his emotions, she watched the man with the underlying preference to allow him some privacy and form his questions within his own time. Unconsciously, the teenager had decided she would not be the one to highlight that his hesitation was unnecessary, realising that it was probably felt unintentionally by the male. Nevertheless, the girl shortly became aware that it was plainly displayed upon his body language, illuminating to her simultaneously that he was no longer suppressing.

Sliding into a more comfortable position, her knees beside her rather then directly underneath, Red’s hands stayed within the confines of her lap. His finally voiced question was interesting, if not completely expected until she thought over her own words mentally once more. However, it allowed her to understand his hesitation and lowering her gaze as to not see his immediate reaction, the brunette planned to answer honestly and face whatever consequences it may bring.

“As for my age, you may enquire and I may fear you will believe me old and look upon me differently, but I was born during the year 1749 so I am shortly approaching my 260th birthday.”

Still finding herself feeling uncertain and fearing his response, her gaze had followed instinctively to his hand as he gestured to his bag while speaking. Quickly, blinking in understanding, her attention returned towards him with a warm smile, but a disinclined head.

“Though I am appreciative of the offer, I do not wish to impose.”

Slowly what shackles he held to his emotions were drifting to lighter bindings, it was second nature for him to hold onto everything tightly, but right now, he felt safe as is. Well, relatively safe, he thought to himself as he smiled. He quite enjoyed the minute silences, the trivial manner in which they spoke to each other about issues that were entirely sensitive. As Vitae could very well admit that a Gentleman should never have asked such a question of a Lady, Red was still ready to offer up a reply. His eyes followed her most closely, due to the fact that any other glance would pick up the mirrors edges and he did not want to be influenced, also that little fact in which he had promised himself that he would not look.

"If it is not forward of myself to say, you seem perfect for your age, beautiful and intelligent..."

Perhaps he wasn't ready for outward expressions as strongly as the words he had plied, though his emotions reigned from cautious fear of having his compliment rejected, as well as his own sincerity floating about with the wish for her to like him. Vitae still did not wish to outwardly show the emotions so clearly upon his features, so an light air of cold would have drifted from his being as he slowed the blood that rushed to his face, stopping himself from blushing wildly. Mildly embarrassed, his heart racing one again, wondering if he would have an attack of sorts if this carried on as he usually kept that in check as well.

Upon her age, when she spoke, he felt a relaxing calm wash over him. As he could finally gauge how his remarks would come across as, in some respects as she was long lived and so would not believe him eccentric. The mannerisms and even dress, she had lived through those ages personally and he was quite taken with the idea of her being older than himself. Differences in Age did not matter and he did not believe her any different than before, he had met mature, yet surprisingly young people before within the Academy and doubted that it he would be hard pressed to cross paths with another.

"Please look upon my eyes... face me, as it makes me feel as if I have done something wrong with the way you avoid my gaze. Were you afraid of my answer? do not fret and share my lunch as you are far from imposing"

Vitae would say as he moved his arms and hands, his voice calm but filled with truth and emotion. Did his words change the surroundings, if this were a scene in a play, did he change the air and motif to a more intimate one. Or perhaps that was all in his own mind and he was to make himself a fool, that would be sore to both his pride and to what he felt. Of course, he would be more embarrassed now, remembering as he lifted his messenger bag off himself and onto the floor beside him, that she could read the emotions fluctuating above the surface of his being. His eyes moving over to her as he smiled ever so lightly, waiting for a response as his hands kept to their own actions.

He would open his messenger bag, it would face away from the Lady as it was magically inclined and he did not wish her to see it's contents. Also it would be more amusing to pull items out of it in this fashion, as none of the items could fit naturally into such a small container, but his was enchanted and he liked the effect in had one people. Soon, one would realize why he was disdained by the fact that he had not brought a cloth for the floor, as he pulled out a basket with small handles towards the side. It was covered in a cloth and held bulges within it, putting that in front of him, he nodded towards Red.

Before he pulled out a metal ridged object, it was more like a basket of metal, holding small jars of fluids and jellied things. Lastly were a tripod, what looked like a kettle, small outdoor cups and a paper bound loaf of bread. This was indeed elaborate, but then again, it was Vitae and he had that air to him, as a well thought out person. Peeling the baskets cloth, one could see the contents as apples, a slab of cold meat and mature red cheddar cheese, also within the contents were three knives. Serrated and sleek meat knife, one blunt and hooked cheese knife and the last was long and also serrated for the loaf of bread.

"If I knew I was going to have company, I would have brought a meal more fitting for a Lady... the jars hold butter, olive oil and an assortment of jams... as well as one holding a light mayonnaise, also do you want Tea?"

Moving his leg down so that he sat in a similar fashion to Red, with his legs aside, he began the minor efforts to cutting the crusty white bread into slices. Then towards the meat, also to slices, he had no plates, which he cursed himself for as all this cried out as a man's meal, well it was back in the days of yore, but now, he reminded himself. It was perfectly normal, hoping she would see it that way as he pulled from his bag another container, a large flask of sorts as he filled the kettle from it's spout with water.

Light surprise mixed with relief, the brunette’s eyes momentarily flickered in faint recognition as she inclined her head, a small smile replacing the effect that was neither vain nor mistrustful of the few kind words that she had just received from the male. In spite of her own personal grievances that she had been taught not to voice, Red’s usual gracious acceptance had become installed through her upbringing and her experiences, social etiquette dictating courtesy as well as her own comfort desiring no conflict. For once however, her words held actual meaning.

“Thank you.”

After all, it was difficult to lie to a girl able to witness both sincerity and deceit; though this particular young woman in question was currently naive of the extremes the male had used to attain his untouched complexion, her vision not capable to witness the lack of blush. While no traces of embarrassment could be seen upon his person, the air she found pleasantly chilled to suit her more then warm blood, Red naturally indentified the soft hue shading him, the colour almost attempting to hide in accordance to the emotion.

Chastening herself, Red forcefully lifted her gaze to his face as he requested, studying those eyes that stared back at her with hidden wonder. Not for the first time she questioned the colour and caught by his movements, which proved to be a subtle distraction to the appearing young woman, she also found interest in witnessing the actions he spoke along with his verbal words.

“I was afraid of your answer and if you truly insist, I shall.”

Spoken bluntly as if an impersonal fact, the empath admittedly did not feel any comfort with her own emotions being placed on public display, yet she had just volunteered to answer his query openly, aware of her ability to lie and for it to go unseen by the wizard. Hopefully her words drawing attention to the lunch, Red personally spoke no more of the event then was necessary, finding that she had formed a genuine smile in response to the one upon his face.

After several moments, Red allowed her interest to be captured by the process of setting up lunch with Vitae within his bag, unpacking it on the open space of floor between them. Clearly, her eyebrows raised and her smile growing wider, there was an undeniable magic through personally witnessing the act of removing the impossible large amount of contents he did from such a small space.

Unthinkingly, the girl laughed when he finally spoke, indicating that the meal was improper for herself though his aura hinted he was conscious of his present effect. From what she considered as a feast laid out in front of her, truthfully the werewolf was bemused as she softly shook her head, contemplating his offer when he produced yet another container which he began the process of pouring water into. The very thought of plates had not even crossed her mind.

“Tea would be lovely, thank you.”

Vitae had plenty of time, all the time in the world actually, so he enjoyed every moment of it. Including the slight elation that he felt when Red spoke thanks, it had been a while since he was like this. Not guarded or cold, but just normal in a sense of speaking, with someone whom would not get offended all too easily. So he watched her as her eyes moved up, right between unpacking and speaking, as her shifting would call him to attention. Staring back as she spoke, he felt a tugging at his very being, not once but twice tempted. Wise men knew when to stop, however, when it came to odd statements, Vitae may have taken the cake a while back.

"You were afraid of my answer... may I ask why and be granted an honest answer?"

He had said with that smile, his eyes still watching, unshaken nor distracted in any way. He wished to know more of the Lady, not for curiosities sake but for his own need to know about her. Knowledge was something he always grasped at, though for people, he liked to know facts and points of intimacy, but has never accomplished such except with the more outlandish or even stubborn crowds. So his hands worked away, having set the place up, he had no need to look away from her delicately framed features.

If she asked, he'd explain the messenger bag, ensorcelled to be a pocket dimension of sorts. Could hold a great deal of objects as long as it was maintained, the things were relatively safe and upon returning would be as good as when they were stowed away. A small wooden lockbox would be next in line as he moved his right hand under the Kettle's tripod, clicking his fingers together a few times, a flame would appear. Widening his palm, it would enlarge itself as it began to heat up the kettles base, returning his hand to the box. A key appearing from one of his pockets, he would open it and reveal that it contained tea leaves.

Four different sacks within the box, each to it's own side, dry and crisp smelling. He would scoop up some of the darker one with the spoon that was pressed upon the box lid. Pulling upon the Kettle's top, it showed that the Kettle had a strange attachment, almost like a fine wire made mesh with only a small opening upon it's top. The leaves were put in here as steam began to rise from the water, the magical flame hotter than regular fires had quickened the pace. Pushing the top back down, the leaves began to steep into the water as with another click of his fingers the flame vanished.

Next was the sandwich that he was creating, having only his own side knife and those in the basket, he wondered if Red would mind. Perhaps she would not as he layered a piece of bread, using a knife he pulled out, which was his personal eating utensil with butter. Meat atop of that with cheese. Making another in a quick fashion, exchanging his blade for that of the cheese knife and one for meat, he was quite meticulous while he created a stack for them both. Not putting on any other condiments until he asked Red if she would like any, of course. The tea steeping nicely, as one could smell it's aroma, it was an Irish breakfast tea, which he quite liked and hoped she would too.

"There... the Tea will be fine in a minute, but the sandwiches are done... if you would like sauces, please go ahead and use my knife..."

Offering her the small blade after he had lashed some mayonnaise from one of the jars onto a single sandwich, wiping it clean upon a small cloth in the basket. No one, this day and age used their own utensils anymore, having ate apples off the blade and such before. Though clean, the idea was still quite stimulating to his mind and heart, like those back in the day whom carried around their own bowls and cups while traveling.

The times differed and the people changed, he thought as he poured tea into the cups, if it were china, he would have poured milk in first before the tea. Then sugar after the milk, but he did not know how she took it and would leave it at that. Pulling out two smaller container one of milk, clear white liquid as it was, the other white sugar with a spoon peaking out of it's lid, he placed it in between them and waited.

Tilting her head slightly, a cascade of dark hair following the line of her light shoulders, the werewolf quietly mulled over her choice of words in regards to his question. He may ask and she would answer, each time herself speaking the truth even if not requested.

“While I am oblivious to your true age, for I know I do not look my years naturally, those with a shorter life span then my own have the tendency to have a negative reaction to the news.”

Mirroring his smile with her own, the brunette didn’t suggest the any number of negative reactions individuals were likely to respond with, consequently allowing him to imagine scenarios while instead looking complacent. Once again soothing out the material of her dress in an almost self-comforting gesture, Red was portrayed as nonchalant. Watching him with hidden interest, her dark green eyes followed his movements with such ease and shrewdness as a predator observing its prey. This was perhaps not necessarily far from the truth.

From previous experience, the teenager didn’t question the bag, her reason a mixture of enjoyment from the unknown and the fact a wizard she had prior questioned had avoided answering entirely. He could keep his secrets and she’d appreciate them for their wonder; vaguely she was aware her roommate was a witch, though the pair had yet to actually meet despite their shared living space. Presently witnessing his display that was both casual and wonderful, Red had already come to the conclusion it would be interesting.

Regardless, he had more fascinations to capture her with and once again, her attention was diverted.

A selection of leaves at his disposal, Red failed to comment as she casually observed him, finding herself oddly pleased with the aged timely quality. Perhaps that was the reason why she felt strangely at ease and comfortable within his presence; after all, travelling rarely made allowance to become accustomed with the change of time and her werewolf pack had been less then friendly with the human world. To her, there was a welcomed familiarity with everything about him.

The tea brewing and sandwiches soon created, she contently smiled in return to his polite offering as she politely took the knife from his hand, considering the spread that lay before her. He had used the container with mayonnaise, but she wanted to linger over her choice and surprisingly, it was difficult as she finally came to her decision.

“Thank you. It looks and smells wonderful.”

Sensing his hesitation, the brunette debated over whether or not she should address his unspoken anxiety, but with several moments past in silence, she abandoned the thought entirely and was luckily rewarded by his glowing aura eventually eased into some form of personal security. Aptly, her history did not make any form of good conversation, might as well over lunch. That did not mean she didn’t appreciate the civility of their arrangement however; Red still retained her humanity despite her infection and that was the primary reason behind her departure.

Raising her eyes quizzically upwards as she spread the dark mixture of pickle on her own sandwich, Red posed herself to ask a question as she hesitated about whereas to lay the knife. Though it had briefly interested her, the girl was uncertain over whether or not it was for personal use. That particular tradition had been discontinued long ago as she knew; even by herself, though it had not been through an actual conscious choice.

“Speaking of which, may I enquire as to how old you are?”

Her eyes failing to leave him as she spoke in the only manner she felt acceptable, Red expectedly lifted the milk container and added a small amount to her cup, failing to use the offered sugar.
