The wizard continued to smile, maybe answering for them both sounded impolite. But Charlotte didn't seem to mind, she was puzzled. The only reason he was in the Academy was to learn basic magic and control, other than that there was no reason for him to be there. And he was more than ready for advanced learning. Other than Charlotte, he didn't know anyone who was the same level as he was. He didn't count anyone who was a mortal because some creatures were just naturally talented or cursed with their power.

When Vincent began speaking again he couldn't help but look at him when he got up. Noting that he was a little hungry. He snuck Charlotte a small grin of 'I told you so', and said nothing, but did Vince really need to ask? Dendasu already offered him some of his blood, maybe he was just to macho or afraid to be that close to a guy. Without killing him of course. Dendasu highly doubted that the girls behind the counter would give Vincent any blood, they'd die from the loss anyways.

The way the vampire talked made him wonder, was it time for Vince to feed or flip out in a blood rush? "Well, how much longer can you wait? You won't, you know.....go on a rampage will you?" he asked. Concerned with the populations' safety. Foxhart couldn't really afford any of its students to cause havoc with its host town. Even if it was the nature of the student. "If don't want mine, you could always ask Charlotte. Otherwise..." Dendasu said shaking his head in shame.

They'd have to put him down, and most likely have to fix up the place. There'd be a lot of things the two would have to do if Vincent wrecked everything and scarred everyone for life if something wasn't done soon.

Charlotte followed Vincent's gaze to the counter, wondering what he was looking for. Her guess was that it wasn't one of the items off the menu. She turned her head back to Dendasu and Vincent in time to hear the latter comment on how he was hungry and needed to find a volunteer. His statement reminded her that she still had half a piece of cake in front of her and while Vincent was at the counter chatting with the girls, Charlotte finished the confection.

After Vincent's departure, Charlotte noticed Dendasu take the opportunity to slip her a cocky grin and she raised an eyebrow inquisitively. What was that supposed to mean? She threw another look at the counter, wondering what would be the fate of those giggling girls Vincent was conversing with at the moment. Charlotte thought of her brother, who was quite young on the vampire's scale. He had slipped up a few times in the beginning, his struggle with his blood lust resulting in him unwittingly leaving behind messes that he couldn't manage to clean up. But her intuition led her to believe that Vincent was a lot older than she thought, definitely a lot older than her brother, and that he was able to restrain himself better than her poor older brother.

Charlotte pressed her fork lightly to her mouth, butter cream dotting her bottom lip from the silver points. "I still think you're wrong," she said to Dendasu. "And I'm not just saying that because I don't want to admit that you're right. Which you're not." She sipped her tea, pushing the now empty plate away, fork resting neatly across it.

Vincent had come back now, a drink in hand and a complaint escaping him. Charlotte laughed, eying the drink and trying to identify it. She wondered if what kind of drink they gave him indicated the degree of infatuation they held for him. But they really were quite fickle, weren't they, to be smiling and giggling at him, to glaring, and then back to giggles again.

A melody rang from her laptop and she flipped the top open. "Excuse me," she said to the two boys. Her brother had sent a reply back and she read carefully, slowly, smiling at his words. His letter was lengthy, just as Charlotte's had been, telling her how he was and what he had been doing and if anything interesting had happened on his end. There was also the usual "be good" and such. Whatever Dendasu was saying to Vincent didn't really process through her head, but she did hear Dendasu saying "you could always ask Charlotte." Her head raised from the screen. "Ask me what?"

SUN IN THE KITCHEN
b o y , y o u ‘ r e s t i l l s l e e p i n g

Vincent sat cordially and proper in his seat, but the words he was greeted with by Dendasu set off a spark of irritation. His eyes fueled into a burning amber of sorts. Narrowed eyes starring at the wizard. "Well, how much longer can you wait? You won't, you know… go on a rampage will you?" There was alight worry in his voice, but that didn’t phase the vampire for an instant. Instead, his grip on his chair tightened, a hard frown on his face.

The magician sounded almost disgusted in a way, as if he’d dealt with such a situation before.

His syrup-brown orbs burned with high frustration. He was offended. “I beg your pardon?” How dare this, this, this… this abomination of a magic society question his control. He was one of the eldest vampires—his ancestor was the greatest of them all! And he challenged his own abilities? Vince spoke with a smooth voice, but there was a hidden tone of cold to it. His face softened but his words did not loose their icing chill. And surprisingly, a laughing smile came to his handsome face. “I was alive before the time you were even conceived as a thought,” he said blandly.

“But now that I do recall, there was a time I was bitten by a rogue vampire…” He paused, setting his chiseled chin to rest on his tender palm. A thoughtful look came to his façade, amber eyes retreating to fragile violet. There was a small silence before a grin came to his cold lips, fangs sliding into translucent needles. “I’ll do my best not to bite everyone like a mad dog,” said Vincent with a shrewd humor. "If don't want mine, you could always ask Charlotte. Otherwise..."

The vampire looked at Dendasu with fine pupils of black. He lifted an eyebrow questioningly, his head still set on his hand. “Otherwise… what? You’ll have to wrestle me to the ground?” He looked at them boy with a sly smile, his fangs already retracted. He was quick yet graceful in his movements, little difficulty coming to him when he did things in secret. “I wouldn’t mind a little sparring, but you might need your rabies shot first.” He jokingly, his amethysts looking over Dendasu before going to Charlotte. "Excuse me," she murmured, her head dipping to her laptop. He always found those things to be strange…

While he fumbled with a lock of blonde hair, he somehow, for a moment, appeared childlike. His eyes were looking up towards the golden tresses, his mouth barely parted. And for one second, he really did seem to have some innocence left in him. But it passed quickly, and it was then Charlotte piped up, late, of course, to Dendasu’s earlier remark. "Ask me what?" Vincent smiled and laughed, directing a finger to his neck. He pursed his lips in a silly manner. “Mr. Café Police suggested I ask you for a little nibble,” he mused, his grin reaching his vibrant golden green eyes.

“However, as I declined his offer, I would not ask of such from you,” he said, matter-of-factly. “I find it rude to drink from fellow supernaturals, especially when we’ve just met… Plus, I wouldn’t want to infect that beautiful face of yours with my killer rabies,” Vince said, dragging on his earlier joke that he was quite fond of. Now that he’d settled down, he actually found Dendasu’s concern and doubtfulness amusing. ‘Silly wizard,’ he thought.

His lazy gaze trailed past Charlotte’s eyes and to her lips, where a bit of cream found its home. He gave her a lovely, white smile before picking up a napkin. He brought it to her mouth where he gently dabbed away at it, his eyes looking down as he set the paper on the table. His cast down lashes made his eyes looked like black crescents against his porcelain skin. Vincent looked up at her again, his kaleidoscopic stare catching her own. . “Sorry,” he began. “You just had a little.. something..” He muttered. Yet for an instant, he actually felt like he’d stepped past her personal bubble, but he shook away the thought.

He was only cleaning her cute little lips. Which, he often found himself looking at. The more he looked at her, the more he was able to take her in. Pleasant curves in all the right places, rosy pink lips with a full bottom lip. Long black hair and doe-like eyes… Then again, he’d already coursed over these thoughts earlier. She was just a pleasing to the eye to glimpse at. Vince glanced over at Dendasu, whom he was having mixed thoughts about. Was he only a two-faced wizard who changed in front of Charlotte, or had he only offered himself to have a little fun?

Either way, he came off much to strong, and if Vince had been one for the same sex, he would have not been his type. He couldn’t even think about ever liking other boys. Women were just so appeasing to him, significantly other witches and a few vampires. There were attractive humans, yes, but they were too stupid to even find their way out of a paper bag, let alone avoid troubling vampires. The nightwalker gave a small half laugh and half sigh at his bemusing thoughts.

‘Foolish mortals!’ he joked mentally. He enjoyed sounding like some dark and sinister creature from a bad horror movie, like the ones that depicted vampires terribly. One of the girls returned with an empty tray. “Hey there… why don’t I get rid of these cold ones and get you something warm?” she said with a giddy pitch. Vince lifted a hand to dismiss, but she was also skipping off to the back for a new drink and to giggle with her friends. “For God’s sake!” he exclaimed, but it wasn’t loud enough to overpower the girly laughter emitting from the counter. Vince sighed, rolling his eyes before massaging his temples.

“I swear…” He said, but the next part of muttered curses were too low under his breath to decipher. He sat back in his chair, a faint yet whimsical smile on his face. “Girl’s like that drive me to the sun.” A term similar to humanity’s ‘drive me up the wall’, only it applied moreso to vampires than anything.

"It wasn't an insult" Dendasu said taking a sip of his tea, narrowing his blue eyes. Even though Dendasu wanted it to be. This vampire was starting to turn into a real jerk. Dendasu choked a little on his tea when Vincent barred his fangs an suggested that they wrestle. Chuckling, while he wiped his face with a napkin, "I'm sorry but you are just so funny" he chuckled. What a dick thing to say, especially since Vince was so good looking and nice? Then, Vince had to just push it. "Cafe police? I'm not the one irratated by hot guys and semi good looking women" he said striking at Vincent's ego. Or maybe his confidence. It really didn't matter because he got back at the vampire somehow.

"But maybe you should rethink what you say, coming from a sorcerer's family you should know better if your so old" he said giving Vincent a charming smile. Like he was playing with the vampire's thoughts. Even though he totally was reading his mind at the moment, probably the reason Dendasu wasn't making much sense to throw the vampire off. Damn Lamina and there stuck up snooty little thoughts of how proud they are about there history. There pride is so easily damaged and most of the ancient ones are even easier to offend. Dendasu began to laugh about how he offended Vincent's kind of vampire in his head.

Dendasu didn't mention how many Lamina vampires he had slew in the past. Only three, but two were extremely old and the other one deserved it. Clearing his throat, bringing the wizard back to normal. Looking at Vincent and slightly laughing at his joke, just to be a good sport. The girl came back with a tray Dendasu touched the cold hand of the way less attractive girl compared to Charlotte, "You know, love we're all good on drinks and I don't think my friend needs anymore or you'll over fill his bod to the point of explosion" Dendasu grinned.

The girl blushed red and her hands began to tremble at the wizard's warm touch, and charm. Not too mention a touch of magic from his gazing eyes, they were a normal blue color to mortals, but a slight pink color to anyone who was a supernatural. Charlotte would probably lecture him about using magic so abusively. Even though he always back sassed her on how she was afraid of magic. "O-o-o-o-o-okay" she stuttered and then walked back to the counter in giggles. Now that Dendasus' self proclamation of how Vincent was afraid of certain attractive people was on hold he turned back to the vampire.

"Now that your lovey dovey birds are gone Vince, tell me about wrestling? You mentioned it, which I foolishly insulted you in the process, but do you anything about fighting?" he asked with interest. Dendasu doubted that the vampire could take him down, unless he used his insane vampire strength. Martial Arts went so far until some can break someone else's skull with their fist.

Besides love, I wouldn't fight an old sexy hottykins vampire like yourself, you'd be dead before you know and that'd be a waste of a great bod. Dendasu spoke into Vincent's mind, You can say whatever you want to Charlotte but it wouldn't change a thing. Plus you already know your hot I'm just repeating myself it really doesn't matter what I do. It was fun being a Mystique, although it was hard being clever and smart around people who were close and new to him.

Plus anything you say or do won't stop me from trying to get a little close. Having the time of his life Dendasu chuckled once more. He turned to Charlotte, "I'm sure neither of us need to worry about rabies, isn't that right Charlotte?" he said knowing a small tidbit about her past in necromancy.

Charlotte watched curiously as Vincent's hand pointed at his neck and she had a slight suspicion what Dendasu had suggested Vincent ask her. He confirmed her suspicions with his next statement, but before she could say anything he went on to say that he wouldn't do such a thing. But she felt that perhaps she missed a very crucial part of Dendasu's and Vincent's conversation. "Killer rabies?" Charlotte repeated with a raised eyebrow. But something about Vincent's countenance told her he was merely joking. Besides, in her opinion, there was more than rabies to worry about in the presence of a hungry vampire. Not that she believed her life to be in danger with Vincent. After all, he had just said he wouldn't do such a thing.

Really, boys were quite strange, and leave just two alone for a bit and the dialogue turns weird when you enter again. Dendasu seemed to be saying something heated to Vincent. She clicked out of her inbox and internet browser window, not feeling up to starting up a reply to the inquiries her brother had sneaked into his message. She shut her laptop, and looked up to see Vincent's smile and a napkin very close to her face. He had taken it upon himself to clean what Charlotte suspected to be cream from when she was finishing her cake earlier.

It was a bit embarrassing, being cleaned up like a small child, but Vincent had good intentions, and he was fast at what he did. "Th...Thank you," she said as she tucked back hair behind her ears. The motion disguised her true intentions of her hand touching her face to cool it to prevent vasodilation and blushing. A convenient trick, as her light skin tone had difficulties hiding the rosy tinge.

A feminine voice caught her attention and Charlotte looked up, seeing one of the girls from the counter at their table talking to Vincent. As fast as she had come she left, coming back with a drink for the object of her admiration. Before the girl left again, Dendasu stopped her, informing her that drinks were not needed. Charlotte noticed a soft pink glow coming from Dendasu and she looked away. Really, was magic necessary for so simple a thing as telling the girl not to bring any more drinks?

Charlotte rested her chin on her hand, stirring just a little bit more sugar into her tea, wondering why Dendasu was saying such provoking things to Vincent. Did Dendasu love fighting that much? "Why won't I need to worry about rabies?" Charlotte asked when Dendasu turned to her. She could probably go on about the symptoms of rabies and reasons why she should worry about it, but she waited for Dendasu's explanation.

WHEN YOU GET HUNGRY
i ‘ l l d o w h a t y o u w a n t m e t o d o

The vampire could hear the wizard speaking in the background. "It wasn't an insult," he said. But Vince didn’t hear him. "I'm sorry but you are just so funny," Dendasu laughed. Vincent still didn’t hear him. His mind was focused on something else. Actually, simple, distant thoughts at reemerged from the depths of his old mind. It wasn’t until the magician tapped into a dish of his own ‘insults’ and flung them at the ancient boy. Before he continued, he gave Charlotte a tender smile saying you’re welcome.

"Cafe police? I'm not the one irritated by hot guys and semi good looking women." What? What the hell was that supposed to mean? Vincent tried his hardest to keep a straight face, but he couldn’t look at Dendasu without doing so for another second. He burst out laughing—true, real laughter—his eyes luminous with emerald and topaz hues. He was making no sense! "But maybe you should rethink what you say, coming from a sorcerer's family you should know better if your so old." The vampire’s tittering faded away, his eyes now sharp and a frown on his face. This summoner was doing this on purpose—he was seeing how far he could shove Vincent until he fell off the edge.

Though he kept his manners and Old Victorian posture, there was cold, deadly poison dripping from his words. “Is that a threat?” he said coolly, lifting his head from his palm to allow his fingers to intertwine in a gentleman’s habit. His eyes were dark and serious, that old flicker of amber burning in their soles. Vince ignored the girl who came, his eyes fixated on Dendasu the entire time. When the girl left, he continued speaking, his smartass attitude peaking. "Now that your lovey dovey birds are gone Vince, tell me about wrestling? You mentioned it, which I foolishly insulted you in the process, but do you anything about fighting?"

It was then the wizard forged a message into the vampire’s thoughts. Even if he could send them, he could never read his own. Mentally, the irritated bloodsucker smiled at this. He thought he was so wise, so smart… ‘Besides love, I wouldn't fight an old sexy hottykins vampire like yourself, you'd be dead before you know and that'd be a waste of a great bod. You can say whatever you want to Charlotte but it wouldn't change a thing. Plus you already know your hot—I'm just repeating myself. It really doesn't matter what I do.’ A stern, frostbiting visage was set on his cold features as he turned his torso to face him. “I know very well what I can and cannot say. I don’t regret anything I’ve ever uttered to this very day and this very moment,” he said. A strange, malicious grin kissed his soft cold lips. A glimmer of corruption glittered in his eye, but it vanished in a second.

“I don’t give a damn who you’re family is—they don’t concern me, and I have no quarrel with them or you, unless you insist,” he pressed on, the humor in his voice gone. This wizard was really pushing his luck. Did he want another enemy to add to, what Vincent assumed, his already large collection? But the danger that seemed to have been bubbling below his surface subsided. No, Vincent was better than this, than him. “You know what? I am above this—I have much more class than to stoop down to your level just to give you the satisfaction of a fight,” said the vampire bluntly. He stood from his chair.

He gripped the edges of his chair, glaring at Dendasu for only a minute before looking back at the witch. He felt almost, dare he say, bad for leaving her? Probably because she’d been such a good sport. But they’d have their own time another day. Currently, the wizard had made a bad, double-edged impression on the vampire, which was confusing, frustrating, and fickle. Vince didn’t know if Den’s charming smile was a fraud like his “jokes”, but he wasn’t going to sit here and me taunted. He did not like being taunted, especially when it was some man in his early 20’s who was still going to high school and tried to brag about his family. That thought slightly made Vince laugh—he was 600 years old…

But he could live forever, and Dendasu could not. Besides, what did the bloodsucker care who his family was? Not all the sheep in the heard are white—there’s always that one odd, misplaced black sheep.

And Vincent had been just that in his own family. He didn’t know—nor cared, at that—how Dendasu had been raised to possibly lead to such outburst acts. At this time, the magician was trying to summon the anger and ferocious temper that Vince had learned to control after so long. If he really wanted to witness it, oh, he’d give it to him! Then again… No, that’d be too easy. He didn’t want to give Dendasu what he wanted. He needed to do the very opposite. He may have thought he’d injured the vampire’s pride—but when you’re as old as he is, one’s pride becomes close to invincibility. And Dove was his only weakness… That he knew of, of course.

"Why won't I need to worry about rabies?" He looked at her with deep, topaz eyes. Obviously, the wizard mistook many things the wrong way, and he was definitely rubbing Vincent in the same direction. “Because this bloodthirsty, uncontrollable vampire is leaving. Good day,” he said, tipping his head to Charlotte. “I hope to see you soon.” Vince merely looked at Dendasu with a hard look before heading out the door, his shoes clacking behind him.

When he reached the outdoors, the brightness from the sun caught him off guard, making him flinch on instinct. But he shrugged it off, growling to himself quietly. “The nerve of that magic twister. I don’t even deal with his kind.” He continued sauntering off until he came by a not-so-far park. He didn’t care if they followed him or not. He was hungry, irritated, and insulted—a very bad way to leave a vampire off for the day. Vince sighed as he found a park bench and sat down. Was everyone in the school going to be a bastard like Dendasu? If so, he wasn’t feeling too original anymore…

Eyeing passerby, he began to decipher who would be his meal. He was growing ravenous, and obviously, his new acquaintances were out of the question. ‘What to do, what to do…’ A very curvy blonde walked by, winking at him. But she was evidently too easy for his taste. ‘Who to choose, who to choose.’ A deep sigh escape his lips as he leaned back to look through the shading leaves of a large oak. His teeth ached, and a pain wretched him from deep in a place that only vampires knew of. He wasn’t as stupid as Dendasu had credited him—he wouldn’t attack a whole damn café. The nerve..

But he was so hungry. And if it got really bad, he may accidentally kill someone from all the blood he was missing. Since he’d arrived here, it’d pretty much sucked. Feeding-wise, at least. He couldn’t find a decent meal a day and it was driving his hunger senses mad. Back in Italy.. In Asia, Alaska—people didn’t mind. No, they offered to be bled. Feeding was so easy to come by that Vincent hardly ever did it! That was how it should be. But here… No, there are no donors. Everyone saw his kind as monsters here—cocky, arrogant bastards. And even if Vince was quite the jerk, he was still a creature who had needs.

“Oh God…” mumbled the boy.

"If you want it to be a threat" Dendasu replied. Was it a threat? Hell, it could be anything Vincent wanted so long as he didn't act like such a jerk. Dendasu ignored Vincent's next statement and his eyes narrowed. Stoop to his level huh? In the wizard's opinion, the vampire sunk lower than he had. He sat there, unaffected by the vampire and his words, he seriously needed to rethink what he had said. How dare he speak to Dendasu like he was some poor excuse for a wizard. No one, besides Charlotte, because he respected her somehow, talked to him like that.

Vincent got the last word before he left. It made him chuckle an snapped his fingers. Letting a spell go to work off somewhere. The wizard put his tea cup down and looked at Charlotte, "He wouldn't have left if I hadn't known that he was after your blood the entire time" Dendasu muttered. Humming to himself as he went up to the counter to pay for all their drinks but the girl shooed him away. Like nothing happened the blue haired wizard walked past Charlotte, "We're friends, and I'm only watching out for you" he said softly.

Then disappeared outside through the door, and snapped his fingers again. An illusion. The curvy body of what looked like an attractive young woman disappeared. Looking at Vincent with his arms crossed and shook his head. "And I thought you were smarter, are you really that blind? To see that a woman like that would be walking around here in Ipswich" he chuckled. Looking at the vampire from across the street.

Giving Vince a small grin. He looked mad, but not at Dendasu. The wizard was about to step onto the street and then he disappeared. Like a wisp of smoke in the wind, "You know I was only teasing you right? No, serious lasting words" Dendasu said next to Vincent. He was resting his head on his elbows on the bench. He appeared behind the bench resting on his knees, like he was some little kid. The blue haired boy was giving off a pleasing aura that seemed to calm almost everything around him.

A small chickadee bird flew down and landed on Dendasus' shoulder and chirped happily. Petting its soft little head with his finger. Feeling like he owed a favor to the vampire, "Did you want a meal?" he asked the obvious. "Reperio me a femina, amicus" he whispered to the small bird. It chirped once and flew off.

A few moments passed and three girls watching the same bird doing little aerial acrobatics. They looked healthy and well accustomed to supernaturals. Two were brunettes and a red head. They looked like normal college girls. Then the bird flew down back to Dendasu, "Oh look! It landed" they giggled and walked over. "Why hello there" Dendasu chuckled. "Dendasu! I should have known, who's your....friend" one of them asked shyly.

Maybe she should have expected something like this to happen. With Dendasu and Vincent's conversation going the way it was, someone's boundaries would be crossed. "Oh, wa--" Charlotte pushed out her chair and stood up, but Vincent had already made his way to the door and exited. She sighed, turning to face Dendasu. "He wasn't after it, he just refused it," Charlotte pointed out. She folded her arms across her chest. Dendasu had come back from paying at the counter and uttered a simple statement before he too left the cafe.

Charlotte put her hand to her forehead, massaging her temple. Friends? It was a new idea to her. She was having trouble seeing Dendasu as a friend really, given their rocky first meeting had revealed the clashing personalities of each other. Dendasu did many things she couldn't really agree with and it would take lots of patience and time for her to accept all these aspects of him.

Charlotte stuffed her laptop in her laptop sleeve, which she quickly stowed in the bag that shared her chair. Charlotte threw the bag onto her shoulder and made her way to the counter, leaving a tip for the waitresses. They were a little disagreeable, but she guessed they couldn't help it in the presence of Vincent and Dendasu. She pushed open the door of the cafe, head turning both ways. She caught the blue flash of Dendasu's hair some ways away and she hurried through the crowd after him, dodging around several people as she did so.

Dendasu was a good distance away from her but she managed to keep him in her sights. She followed him to a park, and like she thought, saw Vincent sitting on a bench. Dendasu approached Vincent, and Charlotte ventured closer in case she needed to intervene. Dendasu might say some more provoking things. She stopped though, when three pretty girls joined the two boys. They seemed to be acquainted with Dendasu. Charlotte drew back.

WHEN YOU GET HUNGRY
i ‘ l l d o w h a t y o u w a n t m e t o d o

Vincent didn’t need to lift his head to know the wizard was near. He could smell him easily, and that smell was sour to him right now. "And I thought you were smarter, are you really that blind? To see that a woman like that would be walking around here in Ipswich." Reluctantly, he tipped his gaze to see Dendasu laughing. The vampire sneered, rolling his now amber eyes. A tint of red was beginning to rim around them. He was extremely frustrated, if not on the verge of mad, and hungry.

The blue haired boy appeared to prepare a step onto the road, but vanished in a wisp of air. His magic didn’t scare Vincent. It wasn’t the first time he’d seen such trickery. One of the servants that he’d met in Egypt had been a lost wizard—he liked to do the same things. And the more he thought about it, the more he realized how irritatingly alike he and the colored wizard were. "You know I was only teasing you right? No serious lasting words," he said from behind the bench. Vincent’s eyes looked away in the opposite direction, a dark grimace on his features. The feeling of tranquility that seemed to emit from Dendasu made Vince want to gag. He was much to furious to feel anything, really.

The count had been known to get feisty and easily irked when he was famished, or near so. But when people like the magician prodded at his switches and gears, it only worsened. He had been ignoring his words up until now. Who the hell did he think he was? Some bipolar god who could destroy and mend everything? Hardly. Vince took first impressions to his cold heart, and the summoner hadn’t done a very good one. "Did you want a meal?" With averted eyes, the vampire heard Dendasu murmur something to a bird that had flown nearby. He retracted his attention almost completely.

Eventually, three girls wandered over, bright smiles and petite bodies clumsily running after the bird. They were giggling, and Dendasu said to them, "Why hello there," in his oh-so-charming way. One of them spoke up as she eyed Vincent bashfully. He was in no mood. “Dendasu! I should have known, who's your...friend?" The pale boy stood from his seat, muscles rippling and tense. His arms were exposed in his sleeve-cut gray shirt. He was sick of this wizard and his mood swings. Sure, Vince had his ups and downs, but he didn’t play ping-pong with them! “Gone,” he said briskly to answer the girl’s question. He then turned his words to Dendasu.

A frown was on his chilling soft lips. “Listen here,” he said through a clenched smile. His face was sweet and handsome, but the burning topaz in his eyes betrayed the atmosphere that had been created around them. “Don’t think you can come up to me, flirt, change personalities with Charlotte around, then suddenly follow me and waltz up with three girls tied to your fingers for gifts and expect everything to be fine.” His tone was firm and velvety, but the hidden anger that bubbled beneath the surface was only invisible to the stupid. Possibly the girls, if they weren’t used to his kind.

“I don’t take kindly to people who treat me like some wild animal with no self-restraint. And I certainly don’t need your assistance in finding vermin to feed from,” said Vince. He lingered for a moment, his eyes boring holes into Dendasu’s before turning to walk away. As he began sauntering off in mild ire, he brushed up against a girl with dark hair, somewhat pushing her. He stopped dead in his tracks, turning to face her through his blind frenzy. His mouth opened, revealing his translucent fangs that were struggling to be let free.

But the instant he met her eyes, the anger subsided. His own orbs fell to blue-green as they narrowed to focus on her. It was Charlotte. In his anger he hadn’t even noticed her. He stood for a moment, a bit dazed at what to do. For some reason, he felt obliged to apologize. This wasn’t him. What the hell was going on? Vincent was never soft on anybody—anybody! But like a box hidden in the attic that was just being dusted of cobwebs and discovered for the first time in years, he found himself walking back towards her, his eyebrows bent up in confusion.

“Charlotte… I.. I’m sorry, I didn’t see you…” he mumbled, lifting a hand to scratch the back of his blonde head. He hadn’t realized how close he’d brought himself to her. He was staring into her deep pools of chocolate, catching himself as he looked at their black centers. After a few moments, he shook his head, trying to unlatch whatever was clutched onto his mind. His eyes returned to their dim amber, but they were not as vibrant as before, more submissive.

e looked back at Dendasu, and a small fire of gold burned in his spheres. But the red from earlier was still there, lingering and hungrily eating away at the iris of his eyes. "I have.. to go," he struggled to mumbled. Turning, Vince sauntered deeper into the park, grasping a tree on his way. He felt like the wind had been knocked out of him. He was gasping for air now, the anxiety in the back of his mind arising to the surface. ‘No…’ he thought. ‘This can’t be..’ It was impossible. The last time he had fed… Was it really that long ago? This had only happened to him a few times in the past, but now… He hadn’t fathomed how bad it was.

“Dammit!” growled the boy as he shut his eyes. This was bad. He had to somehow get back to his dorm.. Lock himself away until his was too hungry to fight. That’s what he had to do the other times, at least. But he was a fool! He should’ve known better than to lose his temper to a person like Dendasu—every vampire knew that anger was terrible during hours absent of blood. And he’d fallen into that trap. He regained his balance, but his eyes were squeezed shut. Good God, when did he drink last? Could it possibly haven been two months already…? As a lamia, he needed more blood than made-vampires (as vice-versa as that should be).

He hated himself right now. How weak he must’ve looked… Attacking someone out of the blue would not happen with him. Vincent was a powerful vampire. The only setback was that the longer he waited, the more feeble he became. ‘Damn this body,’ he cursed in his head. ‘Damn that wizard!’

All four of them pretty much ignored Vincent's little lecture, since he was insulting all of them. The girls watched has the bird flew up again. The wizard frowned, maybe Vincent got the wrong idea when he spoke. All the other vampires understood what he meant, maybe they were more mature than Vincent was. He shook his head, Vincent was on the verge of a bloodlust and he denied his offer twice. Than he saw Charlotte again, just by being there Vincent seemed to calm down. "We'll see you later Den" they all winked. "Bye" he waved.

Looking at Vincent from the bench. He sighed. Dendasu had only witnessed a vampire freak out once and that was enough. Sticking his right thumb in his mouth like he something stuck in between his teeth and pushed it against his fang. Dendasu held down a small ow as a drop of blood rise up, then ran it across his wrist. Making a thin line of red and placed a finger on it. He whispered a small incantation and the blood disappeared. Thank god he was taught about other races at school.

And times, a lot of students liked old times things when the world was starting to come alive. A red circle appeared near the vampire's knee. And a small wine bottle filled with blood along with a wine glass stood softly on the grass. It was all nice and everything, even the bottle had a dark blue bow on it just to show how nice Dendasu was trying to be. The wizard started to the small hole on his thumb and looked at Charlotte. "hmi" he muttered.

OOC: Agh no muse -_- sorry for the late slow terrible reply. lol

From where she was, Charlotte couldn't hear what Dendasu was saying to Vincent. She wasn't going to use magic to eavesdrop anyways, so she held her position. Charlotte frowned a bit, wondering if she should just leave now. She could sort of see their facial expressions, but outward appearances always could hide genuine feelings. Vincent looked as if he had a smile on his face while he talked with Dendasu, but from what Charlotte had witnessed earlier, the smile was only a pretension.

Charlotte watched as Vincent turned away from the group of girls and Dendasu, coming towards her, and Charlotte's head turned both ways, looking for somewhere to hide. She wasn't fast enough, and anyways, there wasn't anywhere that she could stow away in, and Vincent brushed roughly into her. Charlotte felt a bit shocked; it was as if Vincent didn't even recognize her, or he did but didn't care that he had almost knocked her down. Was he mad at her? Was it something she said or didn't say at the cafe? She pulled up the strap of her bag that had slipped down her shoulder from the impact, her head turning to see Vincent's face, a frightening expression she couldn't have imagined him able to form on his features.

But she saw his expression soften, and the mix of slight fear and shock bubbling up in her faded quickly, as he even apologized. "No, it's okay," she responded in her soft voice. "It's my fault. I was standing here right in the middle." Charlotte nodded when Vincent said he had to go. It seemed urgent, and she didn't want to irk him by keeping him. She had just come to see...what had she come for? She supposed whatever offense Dendasu had caused with his careless words and actions wasn't her concern, right? But somehow she felt it could be, since she knew of his nature and didn't interfere. But he was so spontaneous; how was she supposed to predict everything he would do and interfere when appropriate?

"Oh, okay. Well...I'll see you later then," Charlotte added, a small smile forming as she waved to Vincent. She turned to leave as well, to return to her dorm, when behind her she heard an antagonized voice that sounded like Vincent. Charlotte stopped, wondering if it had been something small like tripping over a tree root, but Vincent didn't give off that clumsy aura.

Ahead of her, she saw Dendasu. He seemed to be performing some sort of spell, and Charlotte looked around for witnesses besides her. Did he always do things so recklessly? In her experience, she guessed so. She turned and saw Vincent, red circle near him and a dark, crimson wine bottle decorated with a bow.

NIGHT IN THE CITY, NEW ORLEANS PRETTY
do what you want, and then can I do it to you?

Vince felt a slight pang of guilt when Charlotte’s face appeared to be in shock. Though it faded away, the emotion of remorse still trickled beneath his surface. But he quickly pushed it away. He hated when he felt like this, mainly because such things were feelings that should weakness, and he was far from that. "No, it's okay," said the witch quietly. "It's my fault. I was standing here right in the middle." How silly she was. Nothing was her fault.

The ache in his body and teeth sent throbs of pain shooting up and down his bones. He was so thirsty… "Oh, okay. Well...I'll see you later then," she said to his earlier remark. Vincent was grateful in her simply dismissal of him and took it as an excuse to leave. However, before he left he spoke to her again, clutching his stomach slightly. “I apologize, but I hope that our date is still on?” he questioned before turning to notice the color red. It caught his eye swiftly, and when he turned a red circle greeted him. A bottle of wine sat neatly in the grass, a glass nearby with a blue bow on the cruet’s cork.

Vincent glared back at Dendasu darkly, his blonde eyebrows furrowed in frustration. He didn’t take first impressions, as he had thought previously, lightly. Even if he was a tad moody at times, he didn’t flip personalities like a switch. “Nice try,” he hissed, bending down to grab the glass and bottle. Walking over to a trashcan, he set it inside, watching the red circle disappear. “I’m not a big fan on artificial things, and you’d best be careful using your magic so freely. If some dimwit human saw that, you’d be toasted by the council,” Vincent said sternly since he was a big person on the rules of the Night World. If he had to, he would take out that human at the cost of protecting their secret.

The vampire strolled down the street and away from the scene. His destination was his dorm and a little cello playing in the garden. Maybe some time alone, thought frequent, would be good for him. He hadn’t realized how anti-social he really was until now. Sure, he could deal with crowds of people talking to him, but he certainly wasn’t one for friendship or anything of the sort. Nevertheless he continued sauntering through the down until he eventually came to the grand gates of the hidden English school of Ipswich for Supernaturals. He commonly thought that leaving it would be a good idea, but for some reason, he was still here; he would usually leave a place after the first couple of hours.

His red eyes lingered on the iron posts of the entrance for a little while longer. And afternoon breeze uplifted his shirt as he took a step forward, eyeing everything around him. There was something about this place that gave him the chills, an aura that made him only a sliver of nervous. He couldn’t quite place his finger on it, but he knew that once he walked through to meet his first days of Foxhart High, things would change. For the better, he did not know. Whatever the case of these strange feelings he edged them off. They became only dust in the wind for him, long forgotten memories just like the rest of his centuries of life.
